In your child's blue daily folder, there is a homework calendar for each month.Please complete and color each day of the month.
*I also send home a book bag Monday-Thursday (this will begin in October). Please sign the reading log and return everything in the book bag each day!

Helping at Home:

Click on the "Homework" link to find the homework for the week! This is located on the sidebar underneath Class Links.



Students will also be bringing home a "Book Bag" with their guided reading books 3-4 days a week.
Please practice reading these books with your child and using the strategies listed below.
Please sign the log included daily and return them with your child.
Guided reading and reading daily really works to teach a child to read!

Reading Strategies:
I encourage you to read every night with your child.
Here are some things to consider when reading with your child:
-Left to Right reading
-Picture clues
-Point to title
-Recognize and sight words
-Predicting
-Concept of print (capitalization, spacing, punctuation)
-Retelling a story using sequencing
-Letter and sound recognition
